4th DISTRICT Rep. Christopher De Venecia recently turned over some educational aids to the city’s 46 Day Care Centers in a simple ceremony held at the Senior Citizen’s Recreational Center on April 17.

The turnover ceremony was witnessed by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez along with Councilor Marvin Fabia, Barangay Pantal Punong Barangay Julie F. Perez and lawyer Gerald Tabadero, De Venecia’s chief of staff.

In addition, each of the Child Development Workers of the city received chairs, tables, first aid kit, various educational materials and visual aids.

“This is the first batch of what we have committed to our Child Development Workers in one of our consultations with them in partnership with our good Mayor Belen Fernandez so we could advance the educational progress of our children especially in their preparatory stage,” said De Venecia.

De Venecia asked each of the city’s Child Development Workers to do their share of educating the children well as he stressed that it is the collective obligation of everyone to prepare their students before they enter the K to 12 program in the educational ladder.

On the other hand, Mayor Fernandez is grateful for the partnership and working relationship with the congressman and is thankful that “these educational aids will help our Day Care Centers boost their chance to be accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office,” she said.

The first batch successfully earned the approval of the DSWD in Region 1 while the second batch still have to undergo evaluation.

The fund used for the purchase of the educational aids was the result of the congressman’s fund raising campaign from the theater play of “Buwan at Baril”. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
