Capitol’s PSU scholars backed by P17.7-M fund

LINGAYEN–  The scholars of the provincial government enrolled at the Pangasinan State University received their scholarship assistance from Gov. Amado Espino III on April 1, Saturday.

The governor distributed P17.7 million scholarship assistance to 1,770 provincial scholars during a program for the scholars at the Sison Auditorium.

Dr. Erlinda Fernandez, PSU Scholarship Program Coordinator, said Php10,000 was given to each provincial scholar for the Academic Year2017-2018.

The scholarship program being sustained by the provincial administration launched under the administration of former Pangasinan governor and now 5th district Rep. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to support gifted but financially-challenged students.

Aside from the scholarship grants for provincial scholars in PSU, the provincial government also sustains its scholarship grants for academic scholars enrolled in various institutions of higher learning, and grantees endorsed by the National Commission of Indigenous Peoples and the Pangasinan Federation of Muslims Associations.

Provincial scholars in PSU campuses are Alaminos City (150), Asingan (150), Bayambang (300), Binmaley (75), Infanta (75), Lingayen (400), San Carlos City (220), Sta. Maria (150), and Urdaneta City (250). (PIO/MGNO)
