Candelario, companion hurt in road mishap

STA. BARBARA – The deputy police provincial director and his female companion were hurt when the car he was driving hit a mango tree along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Matic-matic here dawn of April 8.

P/Superintendent Jackie Candelario, 41, deputy police director for operations of the Pangasinan Police Office and then still as officer-in-charge police chief of Urdaneta City in this province, was driving his Toyota Altis with his passenger identified as Rica Vinluan, 20, from Ramos, Tarlac when the accident happened.

The two were on their way from Urdaneta City to Dagupan City around 4:26 a.m.

They were rushed by Rescue Team of Sta Barbara town to the Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital in Dagupan City.

Candelario underwent operation on his dislocated right hip and is recovering in the said hospital, report from the Pangasinan Police Office said.

Following the accident, P/Supt. Neil Miro, former Dagupan City police chief, took over Candelario’s post as Urdaneta City police chief. (Tita Roces)
