SIX clustered barangays will compete in the featured Gilon-Gilon ed Baley on April 21 as part of the Dagupan Bangus Festival 2017.

This year’s Gilon-Gilon will be chaired by Punong Barangay Julie Ann Perez of Barangay Pantal. (Barangay Pantal is excluded in this year’s competition, being a hall of famer for winning the title of the Gilon-Gilon Street Dancing for three consecutive Bangus Festivals).

Bangus Festival 2017 Executive Chairman Epee Rafanan said the clustering provides the barangays opportunities to showcase bigger street dancing presentations.

The participants are: Cluster 1 – Salisay, Mangin, Bolosan, Tebeng, Mamalingling and Tambac; Cluster 2 – Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Binloc, and Bonuan Boquig; Cluster 3 – Calmay, Carael, Salapingao, Lomboy and Pugaro.

Cluster 4 – Caranglaan, Bacayao Sur, Bacayao Norte, Mayombo and Herrero-Perez; Cluster 5 – Lasip Grande, Pogo Grande, Pogo Chico, Malued, Lasip Chico and Lucao; and Cluster 6 – Tapuac, Poblacion Oeste, Barangay 1, Barangay 2 and 3, and Barangay 4.

The winner in the Gilon-Gilon will earn the right to represent the city in the Festivals of the North, a battle of Festivals’ All-Star Street Dancing winners from other provinces and municipalities set, on April 28.

To date, eight have already signified their intention to join the Festivals of the North 2017: Tinungbo Festival of Pugo, La Union; Dinamulag Mango Festival of Masinloc, Zambales; Pamulinawen of Laoag, Ilocos Norte; Pindangan Festival of San Fernando, La Union; Halamanan Festival of Guiguinto, Bulacan; Abel-Iloko Festival of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur; Goat Festival of Balungao, Pangasinan; and Damili Festival of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.
