P/Supt. Jackson Seguin, town police chief, the unidentified suspects clearly targeted Dean Rommel Cruz, 43, of Heroes’ Street in Barangay Poblacion, Lingayen, who was driving his Toyota Vios on his way to the PSU Binmaley campus.

The other victim, Charlene Soriano, was driving a Suzuki tricycle following Cruz’ car was hit with stray bullets when the gunman fired at Cruz indiscriminately.

Witnesses said although Cruz was obviously hit by the first volley of shots, Cruz  sped off by shifting to reverse gear but the gunman chased him on foot and kept on shooting.

Cruz sustained gunshot wounds on his check, chest and abdomen.

His condition now is stable but he is under observation, Seguin said.

Both are in stable condition., Soriano remains at Jesus Nazarene General Hospital.

Cruz hit three tricycles when he backed out speeding.

Police recovered two live bullets, two cartridges from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
