TOUR veteran and former national team member Ericson Obosa of Manaoag still got what he came for by outsprinting his three breakaway partners at the homestretch to win the revivedĀ  Werweran ed Mangaldan bikefest on March 5.

Obosa, 37, floated with the lead pack of five riders after a successful escape from the peloton at the mountain of Rosario, La Union, and alternately paced with his rivals but got the better kick at the finish.

Obosa clocked the 92 kilometers road saga in two hours, 12 minutes 23 seconds together with hometown boy Richard Aquino coming in close second.

Ferdinand Flores of Dagupan City, Jesus Garcia of Sta. Maria and Ysmael Gendrano of Manila finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, two minutes 52 seconds behind.
Composing the top ten were: Jason Comandante of Calasiao, Sherwin Carrera of San Fabian, Joeffrey Sodong of Binalonan, Ryan Bon Rosario of Sta. Barbara and Gilbert Doria of San Jacinto.

Cash prizes, trophies and medals were awarded by barangay captain Silvestre Aquino, councilmen Dante Soriano and Felipe Cabrera.
The main sponsor of the bikefest was Excellent Noodles. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
