ONE-TIME, BIG TIME

THIRTY-nine persons were arrested (33 for illegal drugs and six for illegal possession of firearms) when the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) implemented One-Time Big-Time (OTBT) Operation in 19 towns in Pangasinan on March 9 in launching Project ‘Double Barrel Reloaded’ (DBR) campaign.

OTBT was launched a day after the Pangasinan Police received the green light to implement Project Double-Barrel Reloaded, about a month after the PNP was ordered to suspend its anti- illegal drugs operations on orders of President Rodrigo Duterte.

P/Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver Lee, acting-provincial director, said the operations were conducted simultaneously in San Manuel, Lingayen, Binmaley, Urbiztondo, Villasis, Bayambang, Manaoag, Mangatarem, Mangaldan, Asingan, Binalonan, Balungao, Basista, Bani, Sta. Barbara, Bautista, Sual, Bolinao, Labrador and Balungao.

Lee said there were 29 operations against illegal drugs that were conducted, eight through the service of search warrants at the houses and premises of known drug-personalities; and 19 buy-busts that resulted in the seizure of 72 sachets of suspected shabu.

At the same time, there were 10 search warrant operations conducted for illegal possession of firearms at the residence of several persons where lawmen seized 15 firearms of different calibers.

“The increasing number of arrested drug users and pushers, seizure of large amount of dangerous drugs, and confiscation of illegally possessed firearms is an indication that we are succeeding in our anti-criminality effort, said Lee.

“The One Time Big Time operation proved that the Pangasinan PNP is again leveling up its anti-criminality campaign focused in stopping crimes in our province,” said Lee. (Leonardo Micua/Tita Roces)
