Two ‘guns-for-hire’ siblings nabbed

BALUNGAO –Two of three brothers wanted by the police reportedly involved in robbery, hold-up and gun-for- hire activities in Pangasinan were arrested on Feb. 8 and operatives seized firearms and ammunition in Barangay San Aurelio 3 here.

A report from Superintendent Jackie Candelario, deputy police director for operations of Pangasinan, said police elements implemented three search warrants that led to the arrest of Romeo Pine, Barangay Chairman of Aurelio 3rd, and his brother, Roland Pine, Barangay Councilman. Their younger brother Ronie managed to escape and presently at large.

Seized from Romeo’s residence were one Colt caliber.45, 2 M-203 live ammunition, one live rifle grenade, four live ammunitions and one magazine assembly for caliber .45.

Confiscated from Rolando were one Colt caliber .45, one magazine assembly, five live ammunitions for caliber .45 and one rifle grenade.

Recovered from Ronie’s house were one Colt caliber .45, one magazine assembly, four live ammunitions for caliber .45 and one rifle grenade.

The operation was conducted by elements of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) Quad Staff headed by Supt. Jackie Candelario, deputy police regional director for operations; and the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) led by Supt. Virgilio Pascua.
