Binmaley, Manaoag, Urdaneta City undefeated

INTER-TOWN BASKETBALL QUARTERFINALS

LINGAYEN – The teams of Binmaley, Manaoag and Urdaneta City are on a roll.

As of February 19, the three were undefeated in their four outings in the 1st Governor’s Cup Inter-Town Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals with 4-0, 3-0, and 3-0 standings respectively.

Binmaley team dominated the ring in its two successive outings on February 18 and 19 at Alaminos City and Villasis gymnasiums despite home court advantage of their rivals: Alaminos City, 100-97 and Villasis, 83-78.

At the Tayug gym, Manaoag handily routed Bayambang, 112- 77 while Urdaneta dumped Labrador, 77-50.

An exciting match between Calasiao and Lingayen on February 19 brought the house down as both teams started on equal footing. The deciding point came in the last few seconds with Calasiao beating Lingayen by two points, 90-88.

The other toe-to-toe match was the Bugallon vs. Asingan, 107-101 after two deadlocks in the dying minutes of the game.

The other game results on February 18: (Alaminos City Gym) Mangaldan won by default over San Manuel; Villasis vs. Bugallon, 94 -76; (Tayug Gym); Calasiao vs. Sto. Tomas, 84 -66.

February 19 results: (Calasiao Gym) Manaoag vs. Tayug, , 109 -78; Sto. Tomas vs. Labrador, 103 -70; Calasiao vs. Lingayen, , 90-88; (Villasis Gym) Bugallon vs. Asingan, 107-101; Mangaldan vs. Malasiqui, 99-82; Binmaley vs, Villasis, , 83-78.

Current team standings:

Cluster A (Win-Loss): Binmaley 4-0, Malasiqui 2-1, Mangaldan 2-1, Alaminos City 1-1, Asingan 1-2, Villasis 1-2, Bugallon 1-2 and San Manuel 0-3;

Cluster B (Win-Loss): Manaoag 3-0, Urdaneta City 3-0, Calasiao 3-1, Sto. Tomas 2-1, Bayambang 1-2, Lingayen 1-2, Tayug 1-3 and Labrador 0-3.

Next games are scheduled on February 25 and 26 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center.
