Pangsinan hosts Nat’l Accreditation for Sports Officiating Officials

LINGAYEN – Gov. Amado Espino III assured hundreds of sports officiating officials undergoing accreditation in preparation for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa that the provincial government under his leadership will further intensify its efforts to develop sports at the grassroots level.

Espino bared before the National Accreditation for Sports Officiating Officials held at the Sison Auditorium on January 5, that he intends to launch more sports programs, to include the establishment of a Sports Academy in Pangasinan to help develop and enhance the competency of young Pangasinenses in sports.

The provincial chief executive also vowed to sustain and elevate further the quality of hosting regional, national and international sporting events.

Pangasinan had hosted the Palarong Pambansa twice (in 1995 and in 2012 under the leadership of then Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. (now 5th District Representative).

The governor said he welcomes the hosting of the third Palarong Pambansa in Pangasinan.

The national accreditation for sports officiating officials, which coincides with the regional accreditation, is organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) to screen elementary and secondary school teachers who shall serve as sports officiating officials during the Palarong Pambansa to be held in Antique.

The participants are assessed through a series of physical, practical and written examinations.

Attending the national accreditation for Luzon Cluster were representatives from Ilocos-Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Bicol regions, and the Cordillera.  (PIO)
