Pangasinan still had most firecracker victims

THE Iwas-Paputok campaign of the Department of Health in the region can be deemed successful since the number of firecracker-related injuries this year was lower by 345 cases.

However, Dr. Myrna Cabotaje, DOH Region 1 Director, said the region still recorded 188 firecracker victims from December 21, 2016 to January 5, 2017.

Pangasinan had the highest number of reported cases. Pangasinan PPO confirmed 127 firecracker victims in the province.

Most of the victims were ten years old and below.

152 of the firecracker victims were male and 36 were female.

DOH confirmed that there were no victims of being hit by stray bullet reported. All cases were firecrackers related. (Nora Dominguez)
