83 INJURED, 4 INDISCRIMINATE FIRING

DESPITE the reported 83 firecracker-related cases that injured victims and 4 cases of indiscriminate firing, the revelry welcoming the new year was generally very peaceful.

This was the assessment of Pangasinan Police Provincial Director P/Sr. Supt. Ronald Oliver Lee.

However, he said the Pangasinan Police is still on alert in monitoring the peace and order in the localities.

Based on the PNP IMPLAN Kapaskuhan Monitoring Report covering period December 16, 2016 to January 4, Dagupan reported the highest number with 39 victims, San Carlos City 9, Calasiao 8, Umingan 8, Bayambang 5, Sta Barbara 3, San Nicolas 3, Lingayen 3, Manaoag 2, Urdaneta City 1 and San Manuel 1.

The four cases of indiscriminate firing or illegal discharge of firearms were reported in Bugallon, Balungao, Lingayen and Pozorrubio. All the suspects were arrested. (Nora Dominguez)
