3 die, tanod injured in stabbing incidents

THREE persons died while a barangay tanod was injured in separate stabbing incidents on Christmas Day and on Dec. 24.

Orlando Rosario, 37, resident of Barangay Landas in Mangaldan was stabbed allegedly by his friend identified as Jun Sara, 33, resident of Barangay Buenlag, Calasiao, and later died from his stab wound from a 13-inch knife.

Prior to the incident, the two had a drinking spree with other buddies when Rosario allegedly took a knife and stabbed Rosario.

On Dec. 24, Felix Aquino, 48, a baker, and Arnold Villegas, 38, farmer succumbed to stab wounds after they were stabbed allegedly by their cousin, Jessie Aquino alias Ising, 36, security guard, all residents of Barangay Paitan-Panoypoy, San Carlos City.

Jessie Aquino reportedly went home around 8:15 p.m. of Dec. 24, drank and had a heated argument with his wife, Melanie.

She ran out crying for help when Aquino chased her with a knife.

When both Felix Aquino and Villegas came to her rescue and tried to pacify the suspect, the latter vented his ire on them and stabbed them dead.

Jessie Aquino fled after the incident and is now the subject of police manhunt operation.

Also on Dec. 25 in Barangay Calomboyan, San Quintin town, Frederick De Leon, 21, a barangay tanod, was brought to the hospital due to stab wound on his right waist.

The suspects were identified as Aurelio Tomines, 30, and Jaime Tomines, 46, both from the town. Aurelio was arrested but Jaime remains at large.  (Tita Roces)
