BINMALEY—Twenty-five barangays in this town have been declared drug-free finally, the mayor said, even as he vowed to carry out President Duterte’s all-out war on illegal drugs continuously.

Mayor Simplicio Rosario said in his State of Municipality Address on Jan. 23 that through the police’s unrelenting efforts, out of the 33 barangays, 25 have already been cleared of illegal drugs, while six others are still drug-affected.

Two barangays have always been drug-free and unaffected.

“Binmaley remains a peaceful place to live in,” Rosario said.

He credited the local police force, under P/Supt. Mona Lisa Asis, for the peace and order in the town.

“I give you my snappy salute for your great job especially in the all-out war against illegal drugs by President Duterte and to rid Binmaley of this menace in our society,” Rosario said.

The mayor also pointed out that of all the 48 town and city police chiefs in Pangasinan, only Binmaley has a lady town police chief who equally matches capabilities and bravery of her male counterparts.

Meanwhile, Rosario said the police station visited 8,298 houses and 1,109 commercial establishments under Oplan Tokhang in their unrelenting bid to make Binmaley totally drug-free soon.

He said 38 drug personalities have been arrested.

He vowed to spare no one in the illegal drugs campaign. (Tita Roces)
