Firecracker manufacturers, vendors warned

THE regional office of the Department of Health again warned residents against lighting prohibited firecrackers during the holiday season and in welcoming 2017.

Dr. Jimuel Cardenas, Local Health Support Division Chief of DOH Region 1 said among those prohibited are super lolo, thunder, judas belt, watussi, piccolo.

DOH together with other line agencies met recently to start the monitoring the production of makers and sale of firecrackers by vendors.

They warned that manufacturers of closure if they are found violating the law supporting the ‘Oplan Paputok’ campaign.

Mayors have already been directed to identify firecracker zone areas to be strictly monitored by the Fire Department.

The DOH will launch Oplan Paputok in the region at the Dagupan City Plaza to raise public awareness on dangers posed by firecrackers.

DOH will start monitoring the cases of victims of firecrackers from December 21 to January 5. (Nora Dominguez)
