P/Supt. Jackie Candelario, deputy police provincial director for operations, told local newsmen that Police Officer 3 Christian Caspillo was arrested in his residence in Barangay Camangaan, Rosales while Barangay Captain Victor Chan of Barangay Carmen West, Rosales was at large.

Candelario said joint police operatives seized from Caspillo’s house were 14 pieces of assorted magazines of firearms, 13 pcs of cal.45 bullets, 3 M14 bullets, two bullets for M16, 2 ammos of M203 grenade launcher, 35 fired cartridges of cal. 45, 3 cartridges of cal. 9 mm, one bandolier and one sachet of shabu.

The whereabouts of the Casipllo’s firearms are now the subject of another search by the police.

Caspillo, presently assigned in Naguilian, La Union, is allegedly a protector and pusher of illegal drugs. He is a level 2 high-value target in illegal drugs, Candelario said.

Cases for violation of Republic Acts 9165 and 10591 were filed in court against Caspillo.

Meanwhile, seized from Chan’s residence was a metal hand grenade replica. (Tita Roces)
