Capitol ties up with community disaster volunteers

LINGAYENTo further strengthen the disaster response capability of the provincial government, Gov. Amado Espino III forged ties with seven organizations to serve as Accredited Community Disaster Volunteers (ACDVs).

Joining the provincial government’s network are Pangasinan Bikers’ Association, Inc., Mike Delta Force Intelligence Communication Group – Pangasinan Chapter, Samahang Magdalo – Pangasinan Chapter, Federation of Christian and Muslim Volunteers Brigade Inc., – Cops Rescue, Army Reservist Disaster Response and Management Team, Kabalikat Civicom, Inc. and Pangasinan Delta Com Federation of the Philippines, Inc. signed the commitment and undertaking to cap the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management  (DRRM) Training for Provincial Community Disaster Volunteers.

A memorandum of cooperation among them was signed last December 20 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center.

 “Nothing beats the heart of a volunteer,” said Governor Espino, who hailed community disaster volunteers during the DRRM training.

He added the tie-up forged between the provincial government and the seven ACDV organizations is “a reaffirmation of commitment on their respective organizations and commitment to the province of Pangasinan.” (PIO)
