LINGAYEN— Another P1-million reward for information that would lead to the arrest of Dayan has been offered by the Violence Against Crime and Corruption (VACC).

The total reward is now P1.1-million. A local businessman initially offered P100,000 for Dayan’s arrest.

Dayan, controversial bodyguard-driver of Sen. Leila de Lima remains in hiding for his alleged links in the New Bilibid Prison drug trade.

A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Dayan is being coddled by a top politician in Northern Luzon, as Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre suspected, refused to divulge more details.
He said the police are unrelenting in their search for Dayan.
Dayan’s wife in Urbiztondo town earlier made an appeal to Dayan to surrender after police authorities swooped down on their two houses and two others owned by his relatives and friends in a raid in Barangay Galarin.

“She talked to a reporter who was with the raiding team at that time but she has kept mum since then and refused to talk to policemen and mediamen,” the source added.

A relative of Dayan who also requested anonymity said the P1.1-M bounty will help lead to early Dayan’s arrest.

He added their family became famous because of series of news reports about Dayan.
Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Joshua Maximo, town police chief, said Dayan’s family said has no more communication with Dayan. “We often patrol in Galarin but his family claims they have no more contact or news about him,” Maximo said.

Dayan’s wife was sought out by media after Sen. De Lima admitted her relationship with Dayan but did not face them, Maximo said. (Tita Roces)
