LINGAYEN – – The hospitalization, medical care and treatment program for veterans and their dependents in 10 provincial government facilities of Pangasinan will soon be implemented.

This was assured after the provincial board approved the resolution authorizing Gov. Amado Espino III to enter into a Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) for its implementation.

Authored by Provincial Board Members Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, Raul P. Sison and Noel C. Bince, the resolution acknowledges the decision of the PVAO to accredit the province’s 10 government hospitals: Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, Western Pangasinan District Hospital, Bayambang District Hospital, Lingayen District Hospital, Mangatarem District Hospital, Eastern District Hospital, Urdaneta District Hospital, Bolinao Community Hospital, Asingan Community and Hospital, and Mapandan Community Hospital, that will extend health services to all veterans and their beneficiaries.

BM Rosario said the 10 government hospitals passed the standards set by the PVAO to be accredited.

Under the program, veterans and their dependents will be entitled to P1,500 worth of hospitalization benefit per day for 45 days of confinement in one year.

RA 6948 as amended by RA 7696, the PVAO is mandated to provide hospitalization, medical care and treatment to Filipino veterans and their dependents through the Veterans Memorial Medical Center and veteran wards in selected government hospitals nationwide.

Earlier, PVAO informed Gov. Amado Espino III about the revision of the Veterans Hospitalization Benefit in partnership with PhilHealth to cover all World War II veterans. (PIO)
