ANOTHER ONE-TIME, BIG-TIME

SAN QUINTIN— Seven persons were arrested, 32 sachets of suspected shabu and guns and ammunition were seized in the One-Time, Big-Time Operation conducted by joint police, army and anti-narcotics operatives on Thursday in Barangay Alac, located in eastern town of San Quintin.

P/Sr. Supt. Ronald Lee, acting police director of Pangasinan, said search was made separately in the residences of Vice Mayor Gerry Abenojar, John Vee Evangelista, Denver Evangelista, Johnson Ong, Fidel Evangelista, Clark Nardo and Ronaldo Moreno, all residents of Alac for illegal drugs violation based on search warrants issued by Judge Emma Ines-Parajas of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 52 of Tayug.

However, only five of the search warrants turned out positive of illegal drugs. The house of Vice Mayor Abenojar was among the two that did not yield any illegal drugs but he was invited to the police headquarters to clarify reports being tagged as one of the drug personalities in San Quinitin.

The search warrants were served simultaneously by elements of the provincial, regional and town police stations, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, 7th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.

The operatives seized 12 plastic sachets containing shabu with still undetermined weight and other drug paraphernalia from the house of Nardo.

They also confiscated four plastic sachets of shabu and other paraphernalia from the residence of Ong.

Recovered from the residence of Denver Evangelista were five sachets of shabu with still unknown weight, a caliber. 45 Armscor pistol with loaded magazine with 10 live bullets, two magazines for caliber .45 loaded with eight live bullets in each magazine, and 12 bullets for caliber .9mm.

The raid on the house of Fidel Evangelista resulted in the confiscation of nine plastic sachets of shabu with still undetermined weight and other drug paraphernalia.

The search in the house of John Vee Evangelista yielded four sachets of shabu of undetermined weight.

The raids in the houses, however, of Moreno and Abenojar turned negative.

Abenojar was not around when the search was made in his house, Lee said.

The owners of some of the houses raided by the operatives are Abenojar’s relatives, he added.

Meanwhile, Paulino Rivera Jr, 56, driver-bodyguard of Sixth District Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, and resident of Barangay Lumayao this town was arrested for illegal possession of a caliber .45 with 16 live bullets at a checkpoint in Barangay Alac Thursday around 5:52 p.m., Lee said. (Tita Roces)
