Guv Pogi urges health execs to prop up medical services

Lingayen – Governor Amado ‘Pogi’ I. Espino, III sought the support of the local health officers’ in the Pangasinan for a more strategic implementation of health services in the grassroots level to reach out Pangasinenses needing medical attention.

In saying this, Governor Espino during the consultative meeting he set with the Association of Municipal Health Officers’ in Pangasinan (AMHOP) at the Capitol Resort Hotel here recently this week bared that the provincial government has been committed to give Pangasinenses optimum health programs and services.

Proof to the dedicated implementation health development agenda of the province, the governor said that his predecessor and father, former Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. in his nine-year stint as provincial chief executive had set the pace of the praise-worthy health development agenda of the province.

“We shall strengthen the various health programs of the province, and we need your support in sustaining all these,” Governor Espino said.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of health officers, Governor Espino expressed confidence that the gathering of local key players in health will jumpstart a stronger partnership with the provincial government through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and district and community hospitals run by the province.

He likewise asked AMHOP’s support for them to look into and facilitate the control of the increasing rabies cases and teenage pregnancies in the province.

Meanwhile, the AMHOP led by Dr. Lilibeth Fermin, assured their organization’s support and commitment in addressing rabies cases and rise of teenage pregnancies through various rabies control strategies and properly guiding the youth with health counseling and information dissemination on sex education.
