Drug suspect survives attempt by hitmen

A SUSPECTED drug personality is now in critical condition at a hospital after he was shot and wounded by unidentified motorcycle-riding hitmen at about 1:50 p.m. of October 11 along the Manila North Road in Barangay Anonas in Urdaneta City.

The victim was identified as Mamerto Quero Milo Jr., 50, a tricycle driver and identified by the police as a drug personality in the watch list.

He was reportedly waiting for passengers at a waiting shed when he was shot pointblank by the back rider of a motorcycle that stopped in front of him.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and brought to the Urdaneta Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition at presstime.

In Manaoag, motorcycle-riding hitmen riding in tandem claimed another victim noon of October 11 in Poblacion.

Victim was identified as Reggie Morales, 28, who police said, was standing along a road shoulder in Poblacion, when the suspects stopped near him and shot him in different parts of his body.

He was rushed to the Manaoag Community Hospital but declared dead on arrival. (Leonardo Micua)
