Dagupan seeks P10.6-M supplemental budget

THE finance committee of the Dagupan City government endorsed the P10.6-million supplemental budget proposed by the office of Mayor Belen Fernandez to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).

The supplemental budget will fund amon others the purchase of patrol and transport vehicles to be used by the city for rescue operations in times of disaster and as capital outlay of other projects.

Those who endorsed the proposed supplemental budget during a hearing on Wednesday by the committee on finance and appropriations were City Budget Officer Luz de Guzman, City Accountant Teresita Manaois and City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara.

The P10.6 million supplemental budget will be sourced from balances of savings from the 20 percent development fund which were reverted to the general fund and the realignment of fund and thereafter also reverted to fund urgent projects of the city government.

Among the other projects to be funded by the supplemental budget are: upgrading of PCC pavement in lauding drainage system at Malta Road in Malued; upgrading of PCC pavement including drainage system at Rioferio Road in Pantal; repair of open court gym at Juan Siapno Elementary School; upgrading of PCC pavement at Pogo Chico; repair of roof of the Senior Citizens Building in Bonuan;

Construction of covered court in Barangay Pantal; purchase of food and testing equipment; purchase of mobile patrol and motorcycle and transport/ evacuation vehicle; construction of multi-functional covered court gym at the Dagupan City National High School, repair of covered court at Mangin Elementary School;

Additional costs for the installation of concrete footbridge at Sitio Talaib, Calmay; cost for the procurement of various electrical materials for the Carael High School Gym; and cost for the expansion of kitchen and comfort room for evacuees at People’s Astrodome; repair of roofing works of Magsaysay Market;

Renovation of City Agriculture Office; upgrading of PCC pavement and drainage system at Nable Road in Pantal, Phase IV; upgrading of road and lateral drainage at Liberation road in Pantal, backfilling for core shelter social housing project at Sta. Maria in Bonuan Boquig, upgrading/rehabilitation of concrete box culvert at Herrero Creek and cost of various materials for the installation of nursery in Bonuan Binloc. (Leonardo Micua)
