City thanks Milpitas Mayor Esteves

THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution on Oct. 3 thanking Mayor Jose S. Esteves of the City of Milpitas, California, USA for “his enduring commitment to the aims and goals of the sister city relations between the cities of Milpitas and Dagupan through positive engagements in education, cultural and business exchanges.”
The two cities have since jointly entered into a partnership on April of 2003 and was renewed last October 7, 2014 to last until October 2019.
Esteves was in Dagupan recently for a short visit.
“Under the esteemed leadership of Mayor Esteves, we have pursued and forged the most admired child-friendly initiatives with the student exchange program for our “Manlingkor ya Kalangweran” which aids them in the appreciation and understanding of culture, education and way of life through positive engagements,” said Councilor Jose Netu M. Tamayo who authored the resolution.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and the “Manlingkor ya Kalangweran” will travel to Milpitas this month for the exchange students program. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
