Barangay captain, driver killed by gunmen

INCIDENT CLAIMS ONE VICTIM

URDANETA—The barangay captain of Pinmaludpod and his driver were killed by gunmen but in the process, a woman later died after she was hit by the vehicle of the victims.

Urdaneta City police station identified the victims as Barangay Chairman Bartolome Andrada, a high-value target drug personality in the city, and his driver Johnny Barlon. They were shot while onboard a Montero by unidentified hitmen riding-in-tandem along national road Zone 2 in their barangay.

After the driver was shot and killed, the vehicle swerved to the left lane of the road and hit a canteen where Consuelo Ramirez, 74, widow and her son Moises Ramirez, 27, were hit and resulted in the latter’s serious injuries.

Victims were brought to a nearby hospital but Andrada, Barlon and widow Ramirez were declared dead on arrival. Moises survived but was treated for his injuries.

Police recovered inside the Montero were one cal. 45 pistol, Llama Max- 1 magnum, one cal. 22 revolver, and different kinds of bullets. At the crime scene, five shells fired from cal. 45 were found. (Hilda Austra)
