A CONCERNED citizen’s call to Dagupan City’s Basic Emergency Life Extending Network (B.E.L.E.N.) 16911 which operates 24/7, saved a truck driver’s life last September 9.

That call triggered a quick response from a team of the Dagupan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DCDRRMO) that had to extricate the driver who was trapped inside the a six-wheeler truck after it crashed into an electric post.

The rescue team took only 45minutes to safely extricate the driver with a hydraulic tool.

Councilors Jose Netu M. Tamayo and Alvin T. Coquia commended the the members of the DCDRRMO headed by Ronald De Guzman, who recently underwent a crash vehicle extrication rescue training at the Pasig City Rescue Emergency Disaster Training Center.

B.E.L.E.N. 16911 already responded to almost 2,000 cases in collaboration with the Dagupan City Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection, Red Cross, Region 1 Medical Center, DECORP and the DCDRRMO. (With report from CIO)
