31 LAP beneficiaries get P4.2M assistance

LINGAYEN – Governor Amado I. Espino III awarded P4.2 million worth of livelihood fund assistance projects to some 31 women groups, farmers associations and cooperatives in various towns.

The recent distribution of livelihood assistance program (LAP) of the provincial government was the first to be awarded under the stewardship of Gov. Pogi.

The total amount distributed by the past Espino administration amounted to P70.16 million.

Since then, the program was expanded to include other groups and associations like farmers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.

Assisted cooperatives were from Alcala, Balungao, Bayambang, Binalonan, Bugallon, Dasol, Mangaldan, Mapandan, Rosales, San Fabian, San Manuel, San Quintin, Sison, Sta. Maria, Sta. Barbara, and Villasis.

Recipients under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), were in Alaminos City, Infanta, Labrador and Umingan.

Amount of livelihood assistance varies from P50,000 to as high as P180,000.

LAP was launched by former governor now 5th district representative Amado T. Espino, Jr. in 2008. as one of the strategic projects of his administration to transform Pangasinense women or housewives into productive members of society. (RRB_PIO)
