LINGAYEN–Two drug personalities were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in separate incidents in Lingayen and Binalonan on September 29.

The fatality in Lingayen was identified as Edwin Lopez, 46, who was shot by a lone gunman who barged into a hut where he and relatives were having a drinking spree in Barangay Poblacion, Lingayen at about 9:30 a.m.

The gunman alighted from a motorcycle driven by a companion, with a black car as back up and once inside the hut, he shot the victim point blank while uttering the words “that man with you has to pay the illegal drugs that he owed from me”.

Lopez sustained gunshot wound on his left shoulder but when he got up and tried to grab the handgun from the suspect, he was shot again in various parts of his body causing his instant death.

A team from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered 15 fired cartridge cases and seven fired bullets of Caliber 45 pistol from the crime scene.

Based on police record, the victim was listed as a drug personality in Lingayen.

Meanwhile, shot dead by motorcycle-riding suspects at 3:45 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion, Binalonan on September 29 was Edgar Lampa, alias “Pusa”, 49.

He sustained wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot.

Lampa was listed as one of Top 10 drug personality in Binalonan and had surrendered to the police on Sept. 20. (Leonardo Micua)
