2 killed, 9 injured in TPLEx-Urdaneta road mishap

URDANETA CITY–Two died while nine others were injured in car-van collision along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx) exit point at Zone 6 in Barangay Anonas this city on Oct. 13.

Declared dead on arrival at the Sacred Heart Hospital were Jessie Lacsa, 30, driver of a Toyota Corolla, and his passenger Ailen Alonte, 31, both from Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.

Injured were Corolla passengers Masato Masigawa, 9; Hatoni Dulla, 13; Asigawa Ellen Masigawa, 32; and Carmelita Dulla, 60, all natives of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte and residing in Carmen Village, Ilon-Ilon street, Paranaque City.

Five occupants of Mitsubishi L 300 driven by Jay Serafin, 38, with passengers Jonel Barcelona, 22; Jeric Galano, 25; Ritchie Cabalona, 26 and Ronnie Valliente, 36, all residents of Imus, Cavite were brought to Urdaneta District Hospital for treatment.

Initial police investigation showed both vehicles were approaching from opposite directions, the Toyota Corolla was traversing the TPLEx while the Mitsubishi L-300 was heading from south to north direction along the Manila North Road in said barangay.
