LINGAYEN–Unidentified gunmen struck again on Oct. 27, killing a businessman included in a drug watch list in Urdaneta City and wounding another drug personality in Pangascasan, Sual, including a woman who was wounded by a stray bullet.

Shot dead in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City at 11:50 p.m. of Oct. 27, was Christopher Cuaresma, 41, of Jacob Street in Barangay Nancayasan, a businessman whom the police said was a high-value in the target list.

He was shot four times in different parts of his body by two persons wearing bonnets on board a motorcycle. He was rushed to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta City where he was declared dead on arrival.

Wounded in another shooting incident in a resettlement area in Barangay Pangascasan, Sual was Anthony Sendaña, 27, who surrendered earlier to the police.

The victim was about to board his motorcycle in front of his rented house when two men on board a motorcycle stopped near him.

The back rider of a motorcycle opened fire at him and hit him on the left leg. Although limping, Sendaña ran to his neighbor’s house and was followed by the gunman who shot him pointblank two times more before he escaped with his companion.

Wounded on the right leg by a stray bullet fired by the suspect was Marilyn Busante, owner of the house where Sendaña sought cover.

Both victims were rushed by rescue personnel from Team Energy to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City. Sendaña was later transferred to the Region 1 Medical Center.

Meanwhile, 15 persons were arrested in various towns of Pangasinan, two of them by virtue of search warrants and 13 in buy-bust operations. (Leonardo Micua)
