FORMER Judge Alicia G. Decano was feted on August 27, by the UST Graduate School (USTGS) headed by Dean Marilu R. Madrunio and Rev. Fr. Antonio E. Aureada, Regent of the Graduate School, for serving USTGS for 24 years.

The letter of commendation partially runs: … “We were witnesses to your commitment as a valuable member of the Graduate School Faculty and Program Lead, characteristics which all students look for in a mentor. Your contributions over the years can not be quantified from the time you first handled your classes to the time you helped out in various activities of the Graduate School during my term, like the Legatum lecture series, the community/extension services of the Law Discipline and upgrades for curriculum and instruction among others. I can not thank you enough for all these contributions…”

After the mass, a special program followed and the judge was introduced by Atty. Paolo Dimayuga DCL, now the Program Lead, and Judge Gener M. Gito DCL both her former students, and both Summa Cum Laudes.

A Plaque of Appreciation was awarded by Dean Marilu Madrunio and Dr. Regent Antonio E. Aureada to Judge Decano in the presence of the members of her family Dr. Portia D. Monreal and children, Dr. Blanche D. Orpilla and children and Atty. Farah G. Decano.

Last July 30, 2016, there were two special celebrations in her honor: hosted by the new Program Lead, Dr. Dimayuga, and by USTGS students and alumni and professors led by Atty. Glenn Luansing, president of the USTGS Alumni Association where a Certificate of Recognition to Judge Decano.
