LINGAYEN—To further intensify its campaign vs. illegal drugs, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) launched its drug text hotline 09273814992 Laban sa Droga.

P/Supt. Jackie Candelario, police information officer of PPPO said the text hotline will entertain only information about drug lords, pushers, dens and their activities.

“The information about users will not be our focus, that will be for the barangays and respective police stations in towns and cities”, said Candelario.

Acting provincial police director P/Sr. Supt. Ronald Lee earlier launched a reward program for information that could lead to arrest of wanted drug personalities.

Candelario said the information gathered through the hotline will be handled by the provincial director and the intelligence unit for validation before it is passed on to police operatives.

He said the hotline was introduced to make it easier for members of communities to report illegal activities involving their own relatives and friends since it provides for anonymity.

Candelario also assured the safety of informants in addition to the reward money that will be awarded for verified positive information.

“Initially, the provincial director will give Php5, 000 for every positive information on a drug pusher”, said Candelario.

Meanwhile, he warned prank callers or texters of legal action if caught. (Hilda Austria)
