Police arrest 446 drug personalities

LINGAYEN—The Pangasinan police have arrested 446 drug personalities from July 1 to August 31 under the Project Double Barrel, a nationwide police strategy in the war on drugs.

In a report gathered by The PUNCH, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office reported that the 46 of those arrested are among top 10 drug personalities in various towns while 71 are on the drug watch list, one under wanted list and 328 are newly-identified drug personalities.

Meanwhile, 24 were killed in law enforcement’s drug-related operations.

Acting Police Provincial Director P/Sr. Superintendent Ronald Lee said, a total of 358 drug operations have been conducted from July to August, mostly done through buy-bust operations, implementation of search warrants, warrant of arrest, police response.

About 273.114 grams of shabu and 426 grams of marijuana were seized in these operations.

Dagupan City Police Station led by P/Superintendent Neil Miro, acting police chief, posted the highest number of arrested persons with 49, followed by Mangaldan (29), Urdaneta City (27), San Manuel (19), San Fabian and Alaminos City (17 each).

Dagupan City Police Station also had the highest number of drug operations made with 30 over the same period. (Tita Roces)
