TAYUG—A barangay captain of San Nicolas town, Pangasinan who was listed as a high value target was shot dead by unidentified suspects last Tuesday, Aug. 30, in Purok 1, Libertad this town.

Dead was Reynel Carpio of San Isidro, who was listed as the top drug personality in the town.

Carpio was gunned down near a small nipa hut reportedly used by drug personalities as a drug den.

He was rushed to Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital here but was declared dead on arrival.

Carpio was previously arrested for illegal drug incidents but cases against him did not prosper.

Investigators recovered at the crime nine empty cartridges of caliber 45 and 9mm, one live ammunition for cal .45, two slugs and one plastic transparent sachet containing suspected shabu. (Tita Roces)
