JCI Dagupan Inc., led by chapter president Joseph Veedor, bested the thirty JCI chapters in the competition for best projects during the Area Conference held at Vigan Convention Hall in Vigan City last September 2 to 5.

The local chapter clinched seven major awards, the most for a chapter this year.

The Area Conference is an annual gathering of local JCI chapters where every chapter compete for the best projects and outstanding officers and members are cited.

The winners were Gerizze Babette Zulueta-Nota (Best Project Chairman), Miguel Cunanan (Best Public Speaker) and Remito ‘Mitz’ Cresencio (Most Outstanding JCI Senator).

Cresencio, a 22-year JCI veteran, said he did not expect to win the award considering the stature of the other contenders.

Its three projects were adjudged the best: Hour of Code, a free game programming lecture (Best Youth Activities Program); Aklat Para sa Kinabukasan, a book donation campaign (Best Long-Term Project); and Project HELP, medical-dental mission (Best Public Health Program).

The chapter also won the Best Local Organization Website for the webpage designed by Veedor.

Expressing elation over the results, Veedor said he did not expect JCI Dagupan Inc. to win that many awards. #
