pogi-espinoGovernor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino, III is set to sign anew a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to make the Government Internship Program (GIP) available to Pangasinenses.

The provincial board approved the project tie-up with DOLE during a regular session last May 16 at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Capitol Building here.

By virtue of Provincial Resolution No. 150-2016 authored by Board Member Generoso Tulagan, Jr., the provincial government secures a renewal of its partnership with the DOLE-Region 1 Office for the said program.

Alex Ferrer, Pangasinan Employment Services Office manager, who appeared before the august body, stated that through the internship program, about a hundred fresh graduates and board passers especially in the allied health program from the province will gain a paid professional experience in their chosen field of industry, serving as a springboard for better career opportunities onwards.

The volunteers are ready for deployment in some of the provincial government offices as well as provincial government owned-and-operated hospitals for 50 days, pending their registration for Social Security System enrolment by DOLE.

“It is an advantage on the part of the provincial government to participate in this program because the funding for the payment of the volunteers will be shouldered entirely by DOLE,” he bared.  /RMCL
