Guico is mayors league president

LINGAYEN –Mayor Ramon Guico III was sworn in as new president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), Pangasinan chapter in an induction program held Sept, 16 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center.

Guico and his fellow officers were inducted by Governor Amado Espino III.

In his keynote speech, Espino called for unity between the provincial government and the town mayors to enhance the progress of Pangasinan.

“Let us set aside what transpired during the elections… With your help, we can achieve much more for Pangasinan,” Espino said.

He also pledged to help in the construction of the LMP-PC office building in the Capitol Compound.

Others LMP Pangasinan officers are: Laoac Mayor Silverio Alarcio, executive vice president; Dasol Mayor Eric Versoza, first vice president; San Nicolas Mayor Rebecca Saldivar, secretary; Rosales Mayor Casareno, sub-secretary; Sto. Tomas Mayor Timoteo Villar, III, treasurer; Calasiao Mayor Joseph Armand Bauzon, sub-treasurer; Basista Mayor Manolito De Leon, business manager; Sta. Barbara Mayor Carlito Zaplan and Asingan Mayor Heidee Chua, both district representatives for the third and sixth districts respectively.

Also gracing the event were Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. and Board Member Raul Sison of the second district.

Guico said that the plan is to erect the LMP-PC’s office at the Capitol Compound.

LMP chapter is fielding Guico to run for the presidency of the national LMP which was held by his father Ramon Guico Jr. from 2001-2010. (Leonardo Micua)
