BID brass denies being source of report
SHABU STUFFED INSIDE BANGUS
TOWN officials of Sual town were outraged when reports attributed to a local official of the Bureau of Immigration in Dagupan City about suspected illegal drug trade found their way in media.
But Paulino Verzosa, BID officer in Pangasinan, flatly denied that he was the source of the report that foreign investors in fish cages in Sual reportedly stuffed their harvested bangus with sachets containing shabu before these are forwarded to various destinations.
Media entities that reported the information, however, maintained that it was Verzosa himself who shared the information at the KBP forum in Dagupan City two weeks ago that Chinese and Taiwanese investors have resorted to using bangus to conceal distribution of shabu. (Leonardo Micua)
