WHY rob tightly guarded banks and pawnshops when one can rob unguarded fishponds?

Or so thought some ten armed men who attempted to harvest bangus from the fishpond owned by Erwin Dee in Barangay Pugaro, Dagupan City.

Arrested by responding team of Special Weapon and Tactics led by P/Sr. Inspector Joel C. Cabaddu, were Marvin Caspillan of Barangay Licsi, Manaoag, Alfredo Fontanilla and Christopher Donato, both of San Isidro, Binmaley. Their seven other companions managed to elude arrests.

The three were arrested armed with one loaded rifle carbine caliber .30 and one loaded caliber .45 colt pistol.

Spouses Dee Erwin and Lilian sought police assistance after some unidentified armed men were reportedly seen harvesting their bangus in their fishpond.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez lauded the Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) for their quick response.

The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and qualified theft punishable under the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines. (DCPS)
