Two drug suspects, businesswoman shot dead

LINGAYEN—Two drug personalities and a lending business owner were the latest victims of shooting incidents by hitmen riding in tandem in the province last Wednesday, August 24.

Binmaley’s 16th top drug personality, identified as Marlon Bautista, 31, resident of Barangay Gayaman was shot by four suspects riding on two motorcycles.

Initial police investigation showed Bautista was ambushed by the suspects in a barangay road of Sitio Simon and died on the spot.

Police recovered four fired cartridge cases and one deformed fired bullet of unknown caliber. Motive was believed to be drug related.

Still in Binmaley, a businesswoman Teresa Pinlac, 43, resident of Barangay San Isidro Norte and engaged in lending business was shot by a gunman riding a motorcycle.

Pinlac was about to enter her apartment rented by a tenant Abie Mercado when a gunman fired at her and immediately fled.

The victim was rushed to the nearby hospital but later died due to gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, in Bolinao, the 9th top drug personality identified as Jayson “Tago” Homer, 26, resident of Barangay Binabalian but a native of Dasmarinas Cavite was also shot by riding-in-tandem criminals.

Initial investigation of Bolinao Police Station, showed Homer and his five companions were walking along their community when two suspects riding a motorcycle confronted him, pushed him to the grassy side of the road and shot him several times while his companions immediately fled.

Police found no fired cartridges at the crime scene. (Hilda Austria)
