OFWs stranded in Saudi get OWWA aid

OVERSEAS Filipino Workers (OFWs) stranded in Saudi Arabia owing to work stoppage and their families will continue to get financial assistance from the  Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Through the OWWA KSA-Relief Assistance Program (KSA-RAP), the OFWs who are still stranded in Saudi are each given with P20,000. or 1590 Saudi Riyals. Each OFW’s immediate dependent in the Philippines also receives P6,000. OFWs who have arrived to the country since July 2014, but have withstanding unpaid salaries from their Saudi company, also each receive P20,000.

Only OFWs, however, who belong to nine companies are qualified for the KSA-RAP. These include Saudi Bin Laden Group of Companies, Saudi Oger Ltd., Mohammed Al-Mojil Group, Mohammad Hameed Al-Bargash & Bros. Trading and Construction Co., Rajeh H. Al Merri Contracting and Trading Company, Fawzi Salah–Al Nairani Contracting Company, Arabtec Construction LLC and Real Estate Development and Investment Company.
