The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office’s oversight committee on Project Double Barrel is set to reconvene to evaluate on who among the chiefs of police in the province whose performance have been below par.

So far, only 11 have been named as new chiefs of police and a new provincial intelligence branch (PIB) head was also named.

Superintendent Jackie Candelario, deputy provincial director for operations, said the results of the evaluation will be basis for decision if the chief of police will remain in his post or not. Candelario will preside over the meeting.

The oversight committee meets on a weekly basis and convenes for the monthly evaluation to determine if the Project Double Barrel is properly implemented.

“Other grounds for removing an officer from post is if he is promoted in rank,” Candelario added.

Meanwhile, the first batch of the revamp include P/Supt. Neil Miro (Dagupan City), P/Supt. Marcelino Desamito (Urdaneta City), P/Chief Inspector Dave Mahilum (Manaoag), P/Sr. Inspector Dennis Cabigat (Dasol) P/Sr. Inspector Jun Tabigu-un (Sual), P/Chief Inspector Danilo Perez (Bani), P/Chief Inspector Rex Infante (Sta. Barbara), P/Sr. Inspector Rivera (Mabini), P/Sr. Inspector Rowel Albano (San Quintin), P/Sr. Inspector Zalde Fontanos (Labrador), P/Supt. Cirilo Acosta (Bayambang) and P/Supt. Leoncio Acosta as head of PIB.

According to Candelario, most of the recalled officers were already overstaying in their posts. (Nora Dominguez)
