SAN FABIAN –  Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP)-Pangasinan chapter recently launched its Oplan Broadcastreeing 2016” by planting 3,000 mangrove seedlings in this coastal town.

On its sixth year, “Oplan Broadcastreeing,” a project of KBP in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), was held in Sobol village in this town last August 6 with over 200 participants composed of local media practitioners and employees from both government and non-government organizations.

Emmanuel Sibayan, chairman of local KBP chapter, said the project was held simultaneously by KBP chapters nationwide as broadcasters.

“It was meant to show that a broadcaster is not only a reporter and service provider on air but can also take a lead role in saving Mother Earth,” he said.

“Oplan Broadcastreeing” was previously held in San Manuel town in 2011, San Fabian town in 2012, along Pantal and Dawel River in Dagupan City in 2013, Bonuan Tondaligan Beach in Dagupan City in 2014 and at the Manleluag Spring Protected Landscape at Barangay Malabobo in Mangatarem town last year.

A regular KBP Forum is held in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Pangasinan Information Center every Thursday. (PIA-Pangasinan)
