Four top drug suspects gunned down

LINGAYEN—Four top drug personalities were gunned down in separate shooting incidents in the province on August 4 and 5.

Report from the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office here said that Kim Errol Tagulao, the No. 1 drug personality in Bautista Police’s watch list, was shot dead dawn yesterday in Barangay Sinabaan.

Tagulao and his live-in partner were sleeping inside their house when an unidentified suspect barged inside and shot the victim in the head.

He was rushed to Sto Nino Hospital in Bayambang, Pangasinan for medical treatment and later transferred to Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City but later died.

Tagulao was reportedly engaged in illegal drugs activities in the town and nearby municipalities and was arrested recently for drug charges but was released after he posted bail bond.

On Thursday afternoon, Hernan Aquino, resident of Isla Leet Purok 7, Barangay Pinmaludpod, Urdaneta City, 41, a drug-listed personality was shot dead by police operatives after he reportedly grabbed the firearm of one of his arresting police officers.

Aquino was initially nabbed for creating trouble in his barangay and was later found to be in possession of a plastic sachet containing shabu.

While he and SWAT members were on board a police patrol car on their way to the police station, he allegedly grabbed the firearm of Senior Police Officer 1 Noli Teope.

This prompted Police Officer 3 Jonathan Comilang, to shoot Aquino who continued to fight his escorts.

Aquino sustained three gunshot wounds and was brought to Urdaneta District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, Reynaldo Regonan Jr., 28, resident of Barangay Guiset Norte, San Manuel, ranked No. 2 drug personality in his area was shot dead also on Thursday by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunman in Cabacaraan Road, Barangay Guiset Sur.

Regonan was driving his motorcycle when he was killed.

Responding police officers brought the victim to Dr. Laureano Perez Memorial Clinic in San Manuel and later transferred to Region 1 Medical Center, Dagupan City but eventually died.

The police recovered from the crime scene two shells of caliber 45 pistol.

In Barangay Minien West, Sta Barbara, Jesus Micua Jr., 36, ranked No. 3 drug personality by the town’s police, a resident of Barangay Matic Matic, was gunned down Thursday by unknown motorcycle-riding suspects.

The victim was rushed to Mapandan Community Hospital but declared dead on arrival.

Investigators recovered from his possession assorted identification cards, cellular phone, P1,000 bill and old paper bills and one handgun with five live ammunition. (Tita Roces)
