REDSCOPE Communications and Procter and Gamble, in collaboration with the city government of Dagupan, launched the Superkid School Caravan at CSI Stadia here on July 18.

Former Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Ethelyn Nieto attended the launching that focused on the importance of handwashing as the single most effective way to help curb diseases.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez welcomed the students and participants and assured them that she will continue what she started since she became mayor which is to give the highest premium to the health and nutrition of all Dagupeños especially to children.

She said it is the “most evident yardstick of the quality of life for our constituents.”

“Since I started my public life, serving the needs of our children has been one of my primary advocacies. It pleases me that today, we continue to give the kind of attention that our children deserves” added Mayor Fernandez.

“Our children are our city’s greatest assets, and we shall never waver to keep them healthy, safe and happy,” she said as she urged the parents to continue with the shared task of making the children healthier by practicing proper handwashing.

On the same day, more than 350 indigent kids from barangays Calmay and Pugaro received free school bags, supplies and Green Cross soap from the mayor.

The city also conducted feeding with these kids as beneficiaries. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
