Lee orders intensified anti-drug campaign

LINGAYEN – Intensify police operations against illegal drug operations in the province.

This was the order of the day issued by P/Sr. Supt. Ronald Oliver Lee, the new officer-in-charge at the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office in his first command conference for all chiefs of police in the province.

Lee, who assumed his new post on July 5, said the direct order of Director-General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa must be implemented without letup.

Susunud-sunudin natin not only ang mga police operations kundi pati ang community relations campaign sa mga schools at barangay,” Lee told local media.

Lee said police personnel found using or dealing with drugs will be dealt with severely.

Sa mga personnel, dapat walang involved, walang user, walang nagbebenta o nagre-recycle at walang protector. It’s high time na matigil na,” Lee said.

Lee, however, pointed out that his office will not countenance the extra judicial killings by vigilantes.

Hindi pwede ang extra judicial killings. Our operations should always be within the bounds of law,” he said.

As for the self-confessed drug users who voluntarily surrender, Lee said it is not enough that they surrender to the police personnel. They must be duly processed and submit to rehabilitation and counseling by the local government unit and the religious sector.

Lee, formerly the chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR), replaced P/Sr. Supt Edgar Okubo. (VHS/PIA-Pangasinan)
