LAOAC – The local government of Laoac recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Ilocos to use the “Listahanan” database as a basis for targeting the beneficiaries of their social protection services and programs.

The “Listahanan” lists poor households, including the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) where 30 to 50 poor students work as assistants in the offices during summer also identifies poor households without access to potable water system and toilet facilities which is why two of the yearly projects here are providing them with accessible potable water system and donating 150 toilets to select beneficiaries who do not have their own comfort rooms.

Poor farmers included in the list are the priority recipients of free fertilizers, seedlings and farm machineries from the local government and the Department of Agriculture. (AMM_PIA Pangasinan)
