Gov. Pogi Appeals for Unity and Teamwork with NGAs

Lingayen- – -To sustain the gains initiated by the past administration, Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III appealed for unity, teamwork and sharing of expertise and potentials between the provincial government and the three vital national government agencies (NGAs)—the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Agno Flood Control Office.The governor said that the support of each office will spell further success for the province towards the full realization of the goal in making Pangasinan truly number one.

During the familiarization tour of key officials and staff of the three NGAs to the Capitol on July 12, Gov. Pogi disclosed that their brief tour to the different government-owned facilities will allow them to see what transpired over the past nine years.

He thanked each and everyone for the support they have extended to the past administration as he urged them to unite as one solid team to continue and sustain the gains accomplished by his father, now the 5th district representative.

Stressing that he has big shoes to fill, Gov. Pogi expressed optimism that a lot more can be done if every Pangasinense will work even harder.

In connection with this, the three national offices were briefed by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) chief Benita Pizzaro regarding the accomplished works of the provincial government on the various infrastructure projects and water resources development projects.

Based on the PPDO report, a total of 1,533 deep wells, shallow wells and water system were constructed from July 2007 to June 2016 under the Public Utilities and Water Resources Development Project. This amounted to over P52M project cost.

Said project has caused the drastic reduction of number of households relying from unsafe water source from 7.38% or 31,018 households in 2009 to 3.11 % or 15,846 households in 2015.

With regards to infrastructure and other special projects to include assistance to local government units (LGUs), the provincial government has concreted, asphalted, and rehabilitated some 1,145.791 kilometers of roadlines and 3,287.90 linear meters of bridges.
