LINGAYEN—Gov. Amado Espino, III expressed elation and congratulated the five nurses who topped the June 2016 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE).

Mae Beann Asuncion, 20, an alumna of the University of Pangasinan (UPang– Phinma), obtained a rating of 85.40 percent and ranked 8th among 819 passers.

Other topnotchers from the province are: Nariel Mangonon of Mangaldan, 11th placer (Lyceum Northwestern University); Raiza Joy Lia Oriel of Binalonan, 14th placer (UPang); Walter Patrick Torio of Lingayen, 14th placer (Colegio de Dagupan); and Shaira Louiesse Siapno of Calasiao, 17th placer (UPang).

The governor conveyed his greetings to the successful examinees during the courtesy call of the nurses and officers of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) held on July 18 at the Urduja House.

The provincial government gifted the five topnotchers with P5,000 each as incentive.

Hanggang ngayon, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na nag-top ako kasi ‘yung makapasa lang talaga ang hiling ko,” Asuncion said in a television interview.

First time NLE examinees from UPang posted a 91.57 passing percentage to catapult UPang as the top-performing nursing school in Pangasinan for the June 2016 nurses’ board exam.  (PIO)
