URDANETA CITY—The 115 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Urdaneta City Police Station (UCPS) who were surprised by a mandatory drug testing Thursday, July 7, felt relieved on learning that no one was found positive of drug-use.

P/Supt. Jeff Fanged, chief of UCPS, said this is the station’s initial response to the call of the new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief to intensify the fight against illegal drugs.

“We are starting within ourselves, internal cleansing before we clean our area”, said Fanged.

He took the drug test along with all the personnel of UCPS that took three hours, which started at 8:00 A.M.

After Fanged informed UCPS personnel that everyone proved negative from illegal drug-use, he warned that it will not be the last mandatory testing.

“This will not be the last as we will continue to do this on a regular basis in order to closely monitor our members’ status,” said Fanged. (Hilda Austria)
